Tandoori Masala (Spice Blend) originates from the state of Punjab, which is particularly famous for its Tandoori cuisine. Tandoor's are large clay ovens used barbeque meat dishes, vegetable kebabs, paneer (Indian cheese), naan breads and creamy lentil stews. Meat, poultry, vegetables, cheese and seafood are marinated in a mixture of yogurt and Tandoori Masala, and then baked in the traditional clay oven, barbeque grill, or conventional oven. The blend has a fragrant spicy aroma, which is both hot and sour in taste combining strong overtones of cumin and coriander. Tandoori Chicken Recipe (Serves 4):

4 (6oz) chicken breasts, lightly scored
6 Tbsp Plain Yogurt
8 Tbsp Rani® Tandoori Paste

  • In a medium plastic food storage bag, combine yogurt and Rani® Tandoori Paste. Add chicken, seal bag and marinate in refrigerator for a few hours (or overnight for an even more enjoyable result)
  • Remove chicken from marinade and arrange on a baking sheet or grill; discard any leftover marinade.
  • Bake, uncovered at 375°F for 30-40 minutes or until cooked through. Alternately, grill until cooked thoroughly. Serve hot with Rani® Basmati Rice and our line of condiments (pickles & chutney’s) for best taste!
