PRODUCT INFORMATION

Tamarind is native to East Africa and Southern Asia. The tamarind tree grows wild throughoutIndia, producing the pods from which the pulp like tamarind paste is extracted. It has a refreshingly sweet, sour and somewhat fruity flavor. Essential in South Indian and Gujurati cuisine, tamarind is used as a souring agent in lentil, sambars and rasams dishes. 

RECIPE: Rani Tamarind Date Chutney

Prep-time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes

4oz Rani Tamarind Paste
4oz Pitted Fresh Dates
1 tsp. Rani Chilli Ground
1/2 tbsp. Rani Coriander Ground
1/2 tsp. Salt or to taste
16oz Water 

In a suace pan boil water and dates on medium heat for 10 minutes. Add tamarind, chilli, coriander, and salt. Cook for another 10 minutes. Let cool to room temperature and puree in blender. Tamarind Chutney will keep in refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
