RECIPE: Chicken Biryani

2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 medium onion, sliced
4oz Basmati rice (uncooked, rinsed and drained)
6 tbsp Patak’s Biryani Paste
6oz diced chicken breast
1 ¼ cups of water
1 tsp fresh chopped cilantro leaf (optional)
1. In a pan, gently heat the oil and sauté onions until golden. Stir in Patak’s Biryani Paste, add chicken and cook until lightly browned.
2. Add drained rice, tomatoes and water, mix well and cover the pan.
3. Simmer on a low heat for 10-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and the water has evaporated. Serve garnished with chopped cilantro leaf (optional).
